Which Cardiff wedding photographer should we choose?

This is the ultimate question. There are so many photographers in the South Wales area; choosing one can be quite a tricky thing.
Having just got engaged myself, I have recently had to go through the process of finding a wedding photographer for my wedding. I thought I would create a blog to help people choose which wedding photographer is best for them from a wedding photographer AND from a consumers point of view.
Top tips for picking your wedding photographer.
Ok, so here is my top tip from most important to the least important.
1. Get a word document out (or a spreadsheet) and copy and paste the URLs of each wedding photographer you like the look of into the document. The first thing you will need to do is go to Google and open up quite a few tabs for everyone who comes up when you type in "Wedding photographer Cardiff".
Go through them and spend a couple of minutes on each site deciding if you would be happy for your wedding pictures to come out in the style of that person's photography.
2. Order these choices. Who would you choose if money was no option? How would you order these in order of your favourite to your least favourite?
3. Take the top category and contact them to see how much they charge.
4. Take the prices and see if they fit your budget. If none of your top tier photographers fit your budget, move to the next batch. Once you have found a few that you like that also fit into your budget, make sure you meet up with them before you send them the deposit.
It is essential that you like the person and would be happy for them to be around you on your wedding day.
Do they seem like friendly people? Decide if they are pleasant and will be an nice addition to your wedding day.
Finally, book the one you like the best.

My final thoughts
The reality is that 98% of people will go through a structure like this in one way or another whether it is all written down or just in their head. My top tip for you is that these pictures will be the only things that are left of your wedding day along with the memories in your head.
I know wedding photography can seem expensive, but there is a lot of work that goes into it. Trust me when I say, you are not being ripped off; it is a fair price for the hours that go into it.
Don’t be put off by the price and always try to focus on what product you are going to be the happiest with when the day is finished and go with that option.
Remember one year down the line, you will not be concerned if you spent an extra £300 on the wedding photographer that you wanted, but if you go to a different photographer just because they were cheaper you could regret it for the rest of your life.
This is the attitude I took when choosing my wedding photographer, and for the record, he cost me £1800, which is far more than I charge people.
I hope this process will help in some way to helping you decide who the right photographer is for you.
